The past hours have witnessed widespread controversy on social media platforms about the news of Mohamed Salah's transfer from Liverpool to Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, but it seems that Liverpool's management has different plans. According to English reports, the English club's management has stopped Al Hilal's attempts to negotiate with the Egyptian star, as it seeks to renew Salah's contract instead of allowing him to leave after his current contract expires at the end of the current season.
The Liverpool management aims to compete with the Saudi Investment Fund in this deal, and to keep the English Premier League's all-time top scorer within the team's ranks.
Reports indicated that Liverpool intends to amend the previous offer submitted to Salah, as the club plans to renew his contract for two seasons instead of one, with an increase in the salary value.
For its part, Al Hilal Club has entered into serious negotiations to include Salah, in a deal that is expected to be one of the largest deals in the history of Arab and international football. According to the Saudi sports channels, Al Hilal has made an offer to Salah that includes an annual salary estimated at 150 million Saudi riyals, equivalent to 300 million Saudi riyals for two seasons.
This offer is considered colossal, as it far exceeds Salah's current salary with Liverpool, which is about 77 million Saudi riyals annually. Despite the media hype surrounding his future throughout the season, Salah continued to shine with Liverpool, as his team tops the English Premier League table, and Salah is at the top of the list of scorers in the tournament with 18 goals so far.
