Recent reports have indicated that the management of the Spanish club Real Madrid is considering restoring the services of the team's former defensive star Sergio Ramos, to replace Eder Militao, who suffered a cruciate ligament injury. Real Madrid is suffering from a defensive crisis, in light of the long-term injury of the duo Eder Militao, who suffers from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, and David Alaba, who continues his recovery journey after suffering a ruptured cruciate ligament in December 2023, and is expected to return within several weeks. Meanwhile, Ramos is still without a club, since his contract with Sevilla expired at the end of last season.
A few minutes after Militao's injury, Ramos posted a video clip on his Instagram account of him running and training, sending a message to his former club that he is without a team and ready to return.
However, Spanish media reported in the past two days that Florentino Perez, president of the Merengue fortress, opposes the idea of the return of the Real Madrid defensive legend, given that he is 38 years old.
Real Madrid management is seeking to find a solution to the defensive crisis in the long term, and Ramos' return will not be suitable for the club's plans at the present time.
ESPN explained that Ramos may return to playing football through the Brazilian league, as Corinthians club entered advanced negotiations with the player to obtain his signature as a free player, in light of his not being linked to any club.
The network indicated that the Brazilian club's CEO, Fabinho Soldado, stated that Ramos is on the list of players available in the market, and the club is considering contracting with at least one of them to restore the ranks in the coming period.
Ramos' name has been linked to a move to several clubs in the recent period, including San Diego in the United States and AEK Athens in Greece, in addition to Besiktas in Turkey and Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
